about

Berlin based DJ/Producer Danny Berman aka Red Rack'em returns to his Hot Coins disco project with 2 exclusive remixes on this limited vinyl only release. Danny has been holed up in a studio in rural Austria putting the finishing touches to the long awaited Hot Coins album (provisionally titled 'Geek Emotions') which is due for release in 2012. This naughty white label style twelve (with full permission from the artists involved) is a little teaser for what's to come on the album, which is devoted to all things discoid and new wave.

Side A features a remix of 'Voices' by Ron Basejam aka keyboard maestro Jim Baron from Crazy P. The original track is taken from Rons debut album 'Deep and Meaningless' (on ISM Records) and features a sterling vocal performance from Aussie songstress Holly Backler. Danny has stripped and dubbed the whole thing down into and epic big room stomper filled with drama and suspense. Heavily reverbed Rhodes and loud synth bass develop into a heartfelt emotional roller coaster with a spine tingling piano vocals breakdown which can only be described as a 'moment'.

Side B is a remix of 'The Greatest Escape We Ever Made'by Liverpudlian synth pop gurus Wave Machines which was originally commissioned in 2009 and has never seen the light of day. Until now that is. It's a marriage made in heaven with the original tracks jaunty pop leanings being lovingly blended with the trademark Hot Coins wonky synth bass and disco claps. Did someone say radio friendly? In other news expect to see Red Rack'em releases on Innervisions 'specials' label Philomena, Ramp, Balance as well as the 3rd single on his own label Bergerac before the year is out.
